Parent Testimonials:
While contemplating the last academic year at The Language Academy, we
have come to many positive conclusions.
To begin at the beginning, we had two children at The Language Academy
last year. Our oldest child had completed two years in one of the
highest scoring and well respected public elementary schools in Clark
County. As a regular classroom volunteer, I had first hand knowledge
of the overtaxed teachers, overcrowded, under-supervised classrooms and
narrow minded, simplistic educational standards. Needless to say, we
were thrilled to find a breath of fresh air at The Language Academy!
The educational standards at The Language Academy far exceed those of
the majority of local public and private schools in Clark County,
Multnomah County, Washington and Clackamas Counties, with which we are
familiar. The teachers are absolutely amazing, beyond qualified and
resolutely dedicated to providing an atmosphere of intellectual and
creative growth for their students.
For our family, the education of our three children is one of our
highest priorities. Since both of our children have thrived beyond all
expectations over the last year, so much so, that we're very excited to
have now enrolled our youngest in the school, as well. We expect her
Spanish skills and entire cerebral cortex to blossom exactly the way
our older children's talents have expanded.
In addition to the positive environment and intellectual stimulation,
through a very strong math and science program, the children are
provided with art, music, community service and French classes. This
year, we're particularly excited about the expanding French curriculum!
Beyond the dedication of the teachers and the commitment of the
directors, staff and volunteers, a close knit family feeling is
fostered. This is an extra bonus, not found in other schools. We are
very happy to have our children at The Language Academy this year and
look forward to many more years of advanced academia and creations of
many fond, happy childhood memories.
Sincerely,
The Hendricks Family
What more could a parent want than to have a quality
education for their child, to help prepare them for the future? At
the Language Academy, our child is being given a great foundation
that will enhance and enrich his future. The education that our
child is receiving is second to none. We have seen this through
the assignments that he brings home, the productions that are
put on at school, and through his maturity that is shown each and
everyday. Our child gets the one on one attention that is needed in
the classroom, which enhances his understanding of the subjects
he is being taught.
Not only do the teachers care about the student's education,
they also care about the student's growth and development
outside of the class room. The interaction that our child has with
the teacher is priceless, and for the teachers to go out of their way,
above and beyond the normal scope of their duties to work with
the students, shows that the Language Academy is not just an
educational facility, but a home away from home for our child.
If all educational facilities were to emulate the Language
Academy, the children of the world would not only be highly
educated, but their future would be limitless.

We are pleased to be returning to the Language Academy for a second year. When we
began investigating possible education alternatives for our daughter's kindergarten needs,
our goal was to find a program that would challenge and enrich her. The Language
Academy pleasantly exceeded our expectations.
The academics are stellar with an integrated core curriculum of standard subjects which
allow the children to learn naturally across the interrelated disciplines. The expectations
are high and the pupils rise to them with thoughtful encouragement and instruction. This
results in a student community that is eager to learn and easily mastering subject matter 2
to 3 years earlier than their public school peers. This tutelage, primarily in Spanish
language to foster fluency through immersion, is supplemented by French language
classes as well as music and art. Employing teachers who are native speakers of the
tongues provides the learner with the best possible opportunity to acquire accent free
skills. The instructors also complement the lessons with exposure to the cultures behind
the languages.
Deportment is expected and the students are well behaved and respectful as a result. The
teachers take a personal interest in each child and this, coupled with the small size of the
student body, makes for a close community within the school.
It has been a joy to see our daughter look forward to each day of school. There is always
something exciting and new that she has learned and wants to share. The natural love of
learning which so easily can be snuffed out when a child is under-challenged or material
is presented that is stale and uninteresting, has been flourishing under the cultivation we
share with her teachers.
We are happily looking forward to what first grade will bring for her. The Language
Academy is a superb environment for children to be nurtured academically, socially and
culturally to achieve. It is an institution community where fundamentals and
supplemental subjects coalesce to help our children mature as global citizens. We
enthusiastically recommend the school to all families.
